Parallel computing (SFB project: Aurora) - Project 8

Hardware

In the joint FWF-project (SFB 011) - "AURORA" (Advanced Models, Applications and Software Systems for High Performance Computing) a new hardware was installed in May 2005, namlely an IBM 1350.

IBM 1350 Cluster

It consists of:

• 72 nodes of Dual Intel-Xeon Processors (3.6 GHz, 1 MB L2, 4GB RAM)
• FiberChannel Storage (14 x 146 GB-FC)
• Infiniband + Gigabit network
